Give this classic a cruelty-free makeover and impress your guests!

Who says you need seafood to enjoy a delicious prawn cocktail? This plant-based version swaps prawns for tender marinated tofu, tossed in a creamy, tangy vegan Marie Rose sauce. Served on a bed of crisp lettuce and topped with a sprinkle of fresh chives, it’s the perfect appetizer for any occasion!
Porn / Pawn Cocktail
Ingredients
Block firm tofu
2 tbsp gluten free soya sauce
paprika to sprinkle
Vegan Marie Rose sauce
4 tbsp vegan mayonnaise
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp gluten free soy sauce
1/2 lemon juice
salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
Once you have drained the water off the tofu cut into slices deep enough to manage your cutter.
Use any shape mould you like to cut the bits out of the tofu. Dont disregard the left over bits because I crisp them as well and use them the next day.
Heat some oil in a frying pan and once medium to hot place the tofu shapes into the pan turning every few minutes. Make sure they are crispy before removing them. It usually take s around ten minutes or a bit longer.
Remove the tofu from the oil and place on a paper towel to get rid of any excess oil.
While they are cooling off make the sauce.
In a small bowl place some lettuce, cherry tomatoes. Pour the sauce over that and pop the tofu bits on top.
For decor I always use a slice of lime.
